Cara's Vacation

Here are a few snap shots of Cara while she was at Bear Lake in Utah. She had a great time playing with cousins and visiting the sights. She was too busy playing at the lake to get any shots there, but she took a few at the caves they visited, and of course with the newest addition to the family Braelyn!

Here she is with some of her cousin's. Carson, Tyler and Kade, who is getting his hair pulled by Braelyn and enjoying every bit of it from the smile on his face!

Here she is with that beautiful blue eyed baby!

Paige's Summer Dance Class

Paige has been wanting to take dance for a long time now, so we signed her up for a summer class to see how she likes it. So far she is loving it. She takes both ballet and tap. We took a few shots of her on her way to her first class in her pretty pink dance outfit. I think she liked the outfit more than the class... she is going to be my shopper!

She is posing for this one. This is her favorite pose-- the head lean thing. She poses for just about every picture.

Mckinney Ave. Trolley

We took a little excursion to downtown and rode on the trolley with some friends from church. I have actually never done that, so it was interesting to see the route it takes. The girls had fun and enjoyed being able to ride while sitting "backwards." We walked to a little park and had lunch and then completed our trolley tour. Not a bad little trip, but next time I would like to try one of the wonderful looking restaurants along the way.

Dinosaur Valley

We took a trip over to Glen Rose Texas to Dinosaur Valley State Park. It was a hot and muggy day...imagine that happening in Texas! All the same we had a good time. We got to see some real dinosaur footprints. We even attempted to get in the river water, but between the slimy slippery rocks and my issues with getting in water I can't see my toes in we didn't get too wet.. at least not on purpose.

Here is a shot of a dino print. It kinda just looks like a big hole, but there it is.

If you look to the side in the water you can see more dino tracks... they are harder to see at this angle, but still pretty to cool to think how long they have been around!

We considered camping overnight just for the heck of it, but decided it was easier to just make a day trip. SOOOOOOO very glad we decided to head back home as a huge storm rolled in about an hour after we got home. We would have gotten soaked and blown away! The wind and rain pounded down so badly we lost a huge chunk of our tree in the front yard and electricity for about 24 hours. So we decided we kind of "camped in" since we lived a day without the creature comforts of electricity. We are spoiled these days!

Cara's Cabbage

Cara received a small cabbage plant from school in mid- March. She was to plant it, take care of it and watch it grow.... and grow it did. It got pretty big so we decided to cut it in early June. We aren't big cabbage eaters, so we passed it along to a friend who would eat it, but it was fun to watch it grow. She was kinda of bummed though because it was a contest and her teacher flaked out on the whole thing, so she never got to send her entry into the the contest. We still think it was a prize winning cabbage! For some reason this happened at bedtime too. We seem to make a lot of decisions about that time. : ).

Ro Ro's 4th Birthday

We celebrated Ro's 4th birthday! Wow, can't believe the baby of the family is already 4! She was very excited with all of the birthday well wishes she recieved from aunts, uncles, and grandparents leading up to her big day!

A couple funny stories about her birthday:

Her great Aunt Mary sent her a card with money in it and she jumped up and down and said "I got free money for my birthday!" This lastest about 10 minutes if not longer!

At church on Sunday she was called up to the from so the kids could sing Happy Birthday. She went up to the microphone and sang right along with them. The only problem was she did't know all of the words so all you could hear was "humm humm Birthday humm humm all year" It was pretty funny and I wish I had a video of it all.

Mammaw and Pappaw came to bring her birthday wishes. She loves the new games she got and we have already played them a couple of times. I keep getting beat at Ant's In Your Pant's though... not as easy as it looks (at least not for me). LOL!

To celebrate we went to Wendy's for "booger's" and then on to Chuck E. Cheese for games and cake. The girl's had fun playing all of the games. It was a nice night and we had a good time together as a family.

Tooth #5

Cara pulled tooth number 5. She'd been wiggling it all day and finally decided to try to pull just after she was sent to bed (of course). She was in bed wiggling away when it loosened up enough to pull. I guess that's what happens when your bored at bedtime and have a loose tooth!

Cara's first camera shots

Cara's first camera shots
Cara got a camera for her 9th birthday. She is trying it out for the first time. Her sisters are all too willing to pose for her!
